How Did We Get Started?
Our web camera solution has come a long way from the suction cup webcam on a Pringles can that was brought to us with the question, “Can you design a stand that will support this web camera so we can scan students’ test documents?” To address this need, the kit was designed by some old engineering types who refused to say, “Good enough!” We have tried to be thorough. We tested many cameras and several end-users provided input on each design phase. In fact, when some recent changes were shared with a school district’s assessment director, she exclaimed, “You have thought of everything even down to the nubs inside the box to make the papers easier to remove!” We truly believe the Sharpat Scan Kit™ is the best value for your investment.
Please see our pricing sheets and flyers. We look forward to the opportunity of assisting the educators of today in making a difference in the leaders of tomorrow.
Sharpat Scan Kit Made in USA. Patent pending.
About the Deliverable
Other than ease of use and efficiency our bubble test scan kit design criteria were:
Modular-Single unit—This avoids the need to readjust the receiver tray if accidentally repositioned or if the unit needs to be moved to a different area.
Camera positioning—Higher resolution camera for a larger viewing area.
Self-contained with attachable lid for easy portability and/or storage.
Auto-positioning—Accommodates bubble scan tests up to laminated letter-size sheets.
Versatility—Handling of larger sheets if required. (This can be accomplished by placing the receiver box face-down and using the Stem Extension and/or lid as a scan bed extender.)
Durability—Made from polypropylene same material as used in coolers and medicine bottle caps.
Affordability—Keeping cost to a minimum and functionality to a maximum.

Kris Boneman, of Curriculum and Assessment of the Bonita Unified School District, said...
“I wanted to let you know I just finished day two of training around the district, 1 more tomorrow. We are training Illuminate ourselves as it makes it easier to specifically meet folks where they are in the learning spectrum. Your cameras have been a huge hit! It is my parting gift to them as they leave. We put them together as a group and then they leave with them ready to roll. It really has been way more fun that it should be.
One teacher figured out if they point the camera at the class they can watch right them right through the computer screen while they test. How extremely tricky!
I have to say that our meeting was destiny for Bonita USD. You have done an exceptional service to students and teachers in creating this affordable and convenient camera system.
Thanks for everything Patrick- go forth and prosper! Long live Sharpat!”
